Hey, welcome! My name is Maze. I am a Sebastopol, CA-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and music producer whose art defies genres. Here you'll find tracks, videos, links and more to dive deeper into both my solo and collaborative musical projects.

Listen to My Debut Album Emergence!
Released in February 2025, Emergence is a 12-track sonic interpretation the hero's journey through the lens of the nymph, chrysalis, to imago phase of winged insects like butterflies and moths. It is an arc of ritual transformation combining acoustic, organic, and electronic components to create a deeply immersive and unique listening experience.

We are an experimental ambient trio featuring Maze Knight on harp + vocals, Alex Gilman on electric guitar, and Kyle Walsh on drums. At the edges of structure and improv, we craft a dreamy combo of evolving soundscapes and ethereal grooves, bringing listeners on a unique sonic journey that is at once introspective and cosmic.

For me, making art is often an alchemical process of creating beauty from the pain and suffering, deepening into my somatic and emotional awareness. Words often used to describe my style are: haunting, ethereal, soulful, transcendent, catchy and deep.

With a background in orchestral percussion since 2001, I play a variety of instruments from harp, percussion, keys, ukulele, steel tongue drum/handpan, flute, and more. I deliver quite a range in my artistic expression and capabilities exploring genres from ritual ambient, folk-pop and beyond.
